Our tour of the Saccharum Hotel Resort & Spa in Calheta Madeira. This new hotel is pretty designer cool, lots of moody lighting, use different textures and industrial decor from the old sugarcane(saccharum) factory that was on this site. We travelled without the kids as they were both off skiing with school but we'de love to bring them back here, Lots of facilities, 5 pools, spa etc and it's own sheltered little beach.It's about 45 mins from Funchal so really need a car but if you want to explore. We did some fantastic walks and had fun exploring the specatacular coastal scenery.
